Pacquiao vs Marquez third match, fans's clamored for if Margarito-Pacquiao failed

De La Hoya have a strong belief that the third match between Pacquiao and Marquez is one of the megafight the boxing fans’ clamoring for. Saying in conference :

“I want to make a strong case for Marquez. Not only for myself, because I want to watch that fight, but for all of the fans around the world who want to watch that trilogy. I think that it’s only fair,”

The uncertainty in Manny Pacquiao’s November bout started when his supposed fight with Floyd Mayweather failed.

Antonio Margarito was suspended by CSAC after “Plaster of Paris” was discovered in his hand wraps prior to his match with Shane Mosley.

In connection to Margarito’s suspension, De La Hoya says in strong words, “Any which way one tries to tamper with anything having to do with the fists or the gloves, you know what? You should be banned for life. That’s my stance and that’s my position. There’s no if’s or buts,”.

Marquez and Pacquiao’s 2008 second match was a controversial for having a split decision favoring the Filipino fighter. The decision makes Marquez long for another rematch which he has been announcing publicly.

In the supposed third match, weight fight is one of the factors that stirs arguments between the two boxers.  In Marquez’s last match, he weighed at 135 pounds in his match against Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz in July while Pacquiao is supposed to weighed 154 pounds to fight against Margarito.

De La Hoya’s final words:

“We feel if Golden Boy and Top Rank can make big fights, it’s a win-win situation for everyone – the fighters and the fans, We’re going to do what’s best for the fans.”
