Video game adaptation Resident Evil with latest sequel dubbed Resident Evil : Afterlife hit the weekend box office with $27.7M. The movie with tagline “She’s back…And she’s bringing a few of her friends.”, eventually Resident Evil lead character Alice starred by Milla Jovovich came back and owned the weekend box office. Its predecessor “Resident Evil: Exinction” opened at $23.7M shows only that the franchise did well with its adaptation.
Staying at second place is Paul Walker, Chris Brown and Matt Dillon’s Takers, the movie seems to be pinned to its position for three weeks now and with total gross income of $48.1M
Opening at number one doesn’t exactly mean movie will stay or just slide one place down. On our third place is George Clooney’s The American opening at number 1 last week slides two places down. The movie now gross $28.3M.
Machete’s staying alive. Danny Trejo’s top villain skill has been appreciated by movie goers that keeps the movie on weekend top 10 box office hit. Machete now earned $20.8M just eight hundred thousand difference from its budget.
Rounding up our top five, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long’s Going the Distance stay at the same spot. The long distance relationship romantic comedy movie stays at number five spot despite the fell of almost half its sale last week. Going the distance total gross now at $14.0M.
