Apple to release fix for iOS vulnerabilities

Apple will release soonest the fix for  iOS vulnerabilities or iPhone, iPad and other Apple gadget operating in iOS.

Security problem on iPhone or iPad was exposed yesterday by both top tech sites Gizmondo and CNET. According to the sites, the jailbreak live version can present the exploit as a simple PDF link. The link which does not require explicit user action short of clicking a link.


Apple will release its fix for iOS security vulnerabilities

Hacker group named “comex”, an iPhone Dev Team, was first to exploit the said security problem. Jailbreak became live week after Jailbreaking legalized by the court.

Apple issued the statement on Wednesday:

“We’re aware of this reported issue, we have already developed a fix and it will be available to customers in an upcoming software update.”

German government already issued an official warning pertaining to the security threat of the jailbroke device could get. This is the second time German involved themselves, last June an official clarified personal data collection from German iPhone 4 users.

Most affected gadgets are iPhones using iOS versions 3.1.2-4.0.1., iPads using iOS 3.2-3.2.1 and iPods Touch using iOS 3.1.2.-4.0.

download this .deb file  and open it on your device using either Terminal from your Mac, or iFile on the iPhone. Just download it and place it in /var/mobile.

Also noted that it won’t fix the issue, but it’ll simply ask you if you really want to open a .PDF every single time.
